National Tofu day was established by Japan Tofu Association(Japan Tofu Association (tofu-as.com)) in 1993. October = 10 is pronounced "TO" in Japanese. And 2 is pronounced "FU" in Japanese. This is the reason for setting Tofu day as October 2nd!
